I like a lot of bands that people would consider 'Emo' and sometimes I might wear a bit of 'Emo' typed apparel if the occasion demands.

What I do hate, is the label, the existence of it as a genre. It is completely useless as it incorporates many already existing genres and it is disrespectful to the ideals music exists under. Like all art-forms, music connects with the viewer, and more importunely our feelings, whether we like or dislike the music is irrelevant to the fact that no matter what the music sounds like we will respond to it by what environment we have grown from. Like a lot of people on this site I am not genre based, I instead choose to listen to music that matches my mood. Soft happy music when I need to accentuate a feeling of joy, and hard metal when I am perhaps down. I believe that really how we feel about things, people and ourselves reflects in the music we listen to. Perhaps that is why stereotypes exist (eg: black people listening to rap, gay community listening to dance/techno) perhaps people in a gang situation would feel wanting to listen to artists who perform music that represents oppression by the government and all other aspects that reflect there own life.

In saying all that I come to my point. All music is 'Emo'. Because all Music is 'Emotional'. Now I believe that 'Emo' is a great label for style of clothing and dress because it draws a line between Goth and Punk which allows someone to be more borderline, but when it comes to classing music I find it insulting. A lot of great bands are loosing credit and being weighed down because of the negativity people place on 'Emo' and being classed as 'Emo' can have as many disadvantages as advantages. Take Coheed And Cambria for instance, one of my favourite bands at the present. Coheed are highly received in the public domain as being 'Emo' but a more musically trained person will find that they have more Progressive Rock influences. being highly experimental and drawing many influences from the great likes of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Due to the label of 'Emo' being placed on this band and others of the sort, I find that it takes credit away from the artists.

Now I am sure a lot of you will agree with me, and perhaps some wont. But this is my view and as you may be able to tell I have needed to get that out for a while. I really don't want to step on any toes here, so if you don't agree with me, tell me why, I would love to be persuaded otherwise, because its not likely 'Emo' is going to disappear and I would rather be happy with the genre.

Some 'Emo' clothing I would like:

A pair of Skinny Legs like these After this release, a third stanza was added to make the song interpreted as only a harmless dream. This song is still highly emotive, and has been covered many times by many artists.

Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?

Gloomy Sunday

Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad I know
Let them not weep let them know that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream for in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you

Gloomy Sunday
Extra stanza:

Dreaming, I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep in the deep of my heart, here
Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you how much I wanted you

Gloomy Sunday
I prefer the Björk version of this song.

Sacrifice

Finding that you do not wish to fight for your own happiness and instead regard someone else's destiny higher than your own is a shock to anyone. Finding that you don't deserve the happiness that was taken is even harder. If anyone can uncover this poem, than perhaps they may understand me. Some memories in this world I would cry for, some people in this world I would die for. I have a lot on my mind, a lot I can't say. I have become a lie, not for myself, but for others. For truths can hurt, I would rather deny myself relief than make another's pain.

A poem labelled 'sacrifice', written quickly, by myself, the shadow of Razarelie

Needed i have let go.
my love, my death,
I sacrificed
I wed.

I do not believe,
yet still i relieve,
the weight
on another’s chest.

Never to plead,
A dying seed,
of who hope
has now left.

Perfection:
correction —
is only reflection
of whom I let see.

Not needed,
conceded:
yet never:
the better man...

now I fight
for whom once tight,
not I:
to the better land.

Hope I lack.
sacrifice:
a wanting
to bring our happiness back.
There is so much I want to say, I want to yell it to the world, and make everything better, but I never can make things better it seems I make things worse.

Valhalla

Yep no reason why I called this Valhalla only that it starts with 'V' and its better than the word valentines. One of which is my BOW (Body Of Work) for Visual Arts. With my start on one of fifteen canvases its a big mission I have set for myself. At the present I am limited to doing only this canvas to start with, then as I get the stock photographs I need I can move on.

The outline of my BOW is as follows:

Creating a set of works that explore the symbolism of Virtues/Sins (or Vices) represented in portraits of figures expression the alignment with the moral. 7 portraits of Virtues opposing 7 portraits of Vices, divided by 'The Innocent Birth'. Each portrait digitally created in a multitude of programs but mainly Photoshop CS in a medieval digital painting style.
This piece is obviously 'The Innocent Birth' and when finished it is going to follow this description:

A human foetus growing in an artificial environment (A glass orb filled with a green chemical compound pumped with air bubbles) surrounded by a surface of metal surface holding the orb as if it was a 3D book cover of sorts. The bottom consists a large metallic plate with 'The Innocent Birth' engraved in Latin.
Will maintain updates on my BOW to keep on par, and gain feedback where needed, more soon. A person that makes you so happy, even when your supposed to be angry at each other.

Let me now make things clear about the one person in my life for nearly two years now. We have fun, no matter what we are doing. I am completely happy to do nothing more than just simply lay beside her. Each time I look into her eyes they tell me something different. All that stuff seems so fluffy, but screw you arseholes if I want to express my self (Of which this blog is for) than I am going to do it. I remember back now to one Easter that was spent as a kind of Anniversary. We went down to Mount Beauty in Victoria, to a little resort beside a river. Autumn had caused all the lovely trees to go golden and create a constant gold rain of leaves as you walk through the area. It was gorgeous, the lovelly cool mountain stream cascading over smooth river rocks. We spent two weeks in this little piece of heaven, walking, relaxing, trying to swim in the crisp water (sorry about pushing you again) We even made great friends with Sandy from Sandy's Video Shack.

But how we met is not as colourful. If anything its darker. What you have to understand is that Hannah Rose lives around 3 hrs away, but this one night we both were attending a form of self esteem leader camp. At the time I was still coming out of a heavy relationship that ended a few months before, so I wanted nothing but to have fun with some new people. Unfortunately, with Hannah and her peers (that came from my old relationships territory) brought news of that very person. This one person I had committed a large chunk of my life and soul to had been with another. I suppose I never woke up to the fact that she would move on, I did now. It shook me to the core and I wanted nothing more than to get home and be with my family. But the officials of the camp didn't understand my demands. Eventually that night I had made my point clear to the officials, and even the police. I was on my way home. During this time of my mental melt down, Hannah and Co. Witnessed a different side of me than the overtly happy boy, and by the end of the night when I returned to the camp in the police car Hannah herself felt differently. As they brought my bag and possessions up to the car I told them not to worry about me, and hugged each one. Now, this is were I swear the truth: When I approached Hannah I saw something in her eyes that was a mixture of guilt for her and myself, and compassion. Her expression was so strong I remember being completely drawn to it, and when I came to the point of embracing her, I had an out of body urge to kiss her softly. Shrugging this off, I still couldn't resist kissing her on the cheek. Though I didn't know it then, I could have stayed there then. I had found that comfort you get when someone you love holds you close, exactly what I was looking for at home. She could have fixed me. But hey destiny works in odd ways.

For months we had slight contact, a few letters and phone calls that lasted too long to be just friends. But eventually we lost contact after a few months as I ventured to New Zealand. Months later by happenstance we regained contact, and this time it was my turn to help her. All I will say is this lovely girl was down very deep, and needed to get back up otherwise she wasn't going to make it.

Little did I know in the months we were in contact, whilst I had been flooding her with my Ex. She had been falling deeper and deeper in love with me. She had even told one of her friends, not long after the camp, and before we got in contact, that she loved me and she didn't know why. Thank God, I didn't know that at the time, I would have screwed it up.

I think I will end this entry of which could last a lot longer with the story of the first kiss I ever gave Hannah Rose:

I remember seeing her eyes living into mine as I turned from my dubious fiddling with my shelf. I felt myself walking towards her slowly, staring into her eyes. Getting close, I placed my finger on her lips, and watched, as she looked at me in surprised. Then I closed her eyes with my fingers and began, our true relationship. I placed her hand at her gently at her side, and opened her fingers from her palm. Ever so gradually, I made her fingers glide over my chin, then to my forehead, my nose, me eyes, and finally my lips as the moisture caused by anxiety caught her fingers slightly. I returned her hand, feeling her heartbeat. Upon waiting for her eyes to open I risked a small smile. When she finally opened your eyes I pointed at myself and slowly closed my own eyes, as she slowly returned the process. After that we paused, I could feel her heart beat from the distance as we drew into a soft passionate kiss.

Hannah Rose, I love you, If ever I am judged at the end, I will know I did one thing right.

Spending my life with you.

Game Review: PIRATES! Even if I am a huge Zelda fan, this game still kicks Link of his Epona. I first played this game a few days ago and I haven't stopped playing it since, which is very bad because I have an essay to write. Though the graphics are not Xbox material (Though there is a new version released on Xbox funny enough) they don't need to be. The graphics are at the level where you acknowledge they are crap and just get on with what the game has to offer. Only now have I found out that this game was created by the great strategy man 'Sid Meier'. But this game has so much and it is so user orientated, there is no set path, you chose where you go, you chose who you become...
If you don't believe me here are the things you can do in this game (click for screenshot):

Sailing

Trading

Marriage

Search For Treasure

Maritime Warfare

Bombarding Towns

Attacking By Land

And Dueling

Man Pirates rock! Its an odd connection I know but I stick tot it.

I didn't Like the cover.

Yet of watching this one film recently I had to drop all my egocentric convictions, this film is great and deserves appraisal, even ahead of my more loved films.

A Million Dollar Baby
Directed by Clint Eastwood Staring Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman, and himself
tells a boxer's journey that K.O's Rocky. Filled with emotion, aggression and the bitter-sweet truths of life. This film addresses many issues without over-glossing them. This movie like the perfect assimilation of a chicks flick a with ego-testostirone pumping centre, one for both Mr. and Mrs.
I don't want to go into the story to much because I believe that is what this film does best: It takes you step by step around every bend that camera can throw at you.
And god does that camera throw some nice shots. Particularly in the late night training sections with minimal light and well arranged shadow work.

Best Achievement in Directing: Clint Eastwood
Best Motion Picture Of The Year: Clint Eastwood, Albert S. I have a good excuse so don't make me use 'pirate words' on you... I'm not that nasty.

Instead I will convey my excuse for being ever-so absent to this blog:
My girlfriend + Here + Two Weeks = Better things to do.

It was her birthday on the 7th of January and we celebrated it like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately the next day did come, but we avoided a large percentage of it.Also there was some productivity with my girl around. I managed to get some photos taken. Including this shot which was taken at night with some slow shutter speeds and other non-post work. Very happy with the result only ended up putting the sephia tone on the B&W image in Photoshop.
Things you can expect from me in the near future:

Trivia

Film Review

Album Review

Cancellation of the weekly doodle

Cancellation of the weekly doodle: Well it was bound to happen. I was stupid enough to think I could maintain it through my most intense and weighing year of school (my final) So I have scrapped that plan. I have to admit I was not always mac, but we wont talk about those dark times. The fact is I am now, and with operating systems like OS X 10.4 'Tiger' who wouldn't be.
But if there ever were things that I loved more than mac...apart from the god damn obvious (and happy birthday to her for the 7th) it would have to be Björk. [Click For Full]">

I have officially found the 2nd most scariest music video clip I have ever seen in my life! It's like a mix of 'Chucky' and well....something god damn freaky. The whole clip is this freaky little techno-child-eaten-robot-thing, dictating infront of a projected screen of large words. Its like a surreal boot camp sapping the minds of those who bare witness.

Now I would love to know if you can guess what kind of sick, obviously dark, gothic, twisted band this comes from? Yes do you know?.... No your wrong! its Daft Punk! I never knew they had it in them, with their light, fluffy cereal-box, space-cadet, robot-rock ( a track on one of their albums I might add). Yes at around one in the morning seeing this clip has made me want to take an early night. I swear this is one odd clip. Here are some lyrics:

"Buy it, use it, break it, fix it,
Trash it, change it, melt- upgrade it,
Charlie point it, zoom it, press it,
Snap it, work it, quick- erase it,
Write it, cut it, paste it, save it,
Load it, check it, quick- rewrite it,
Plug it, play it, burn it, rip it..."
O yes did I also tell you that thing is what sings the song. mmm... I think I actually like the song its catching, in a baseball kind of way.

PS: for the record the most scariest video clip is Björk's 'Where Is The Line?" (Images1-2-3-4-5)

Official Link to Quicktime Download of 'Technologic'(Its weird it has no movie player controls or does it say the site is loading, just press space to watch once loading)

Other Link to Quicktime and other versions of 'Technologic'

30 Second Preview of 'Technologic'

Edible Clothing

Well I would like to inform all my readers that the Edible Under-Garments I purchased for her christmas gift, have not been consumed of yet. Now that may sound odd and highly irrelevant, but I fear for my mothers dear warm fuzzy life. You see the Use-By-Date on these peckerish-panties is today! Yes today! which is Friday the 30th of December 2005, for those of you who don't believe in time.
My fear, my poor scary fear! I really don't want my mother to be exercising her gift in an evening of the future, only for me to find, on my usual morning run to her room for snuggles, that my mother and father a dead cold in a very compromising position. For those of you who do not believe in Use-By-Date's BEWARE! Because not only have I eaten green peanuts without knowing, cracked a rotten egg into a near complete cake mixture, and cut open a hollow avocado (all in one day) but I have eaten coagulated blood w/wheat (and no that wasn't rotten at the time).

So next time you are about to feast into your favorite snack, make sure you check that little side of roughly printed date. because it could save your life...or at least the peoples ears that have to hear you whine about it afterwards.

Also I believe — on the topic of Edible Clothing — Nike should release a range of thick rubbered sneakers, that have imbedded in the rubbery soles: Candy. For then fat people so enticed by the treat, will have to wall miles upon miles to hence wear down the shoe and there-upon taste the yummy snacks. Problem solved.
PS: I know there is a typo in the image, I didn't make it. Still love it though.

Late Night Links And Linguistic Things

Well all you lovely good looking people should be reading this sometime in the day time of the 30th, because if you reading this at 3AM that's naughty and you should be in bed, dreaming about what your going to do with those bottles of absinth you bought from South Australia online with Mummy and Daddies credit card. Well it is new years. After spending a night cooked up in this hellish network of spiders, I found many sites — many of which I can't post because I want to keep this blog aimed at pleasing a young audience — but one site had to catch my eye tonight. With his witty humor and well written entries, my friend's blog is as creative as deities come.

"I like puppy dogs, long walks down the beach, and pictures of unicorns. I've accepted that I am an alcoholic ever since I fell down a flight of stairs without spilling my drink. However, alcoholism is vastly underrated."
Though his entries may come across to people that don't know him as being crude, mean, or even sometimes evil, he is lovely boy, with a warm heart, and a even better technique to getting close to others humor.

Chaos, Panic, and Disorder?

Also I have just been re-convinced in my personal opinion that the Icelandic Language (male talking with accent [not best example]) is the most gorgeous sounding collection of grammar in the world. After finding myself at 11:50pm infront of the TV watching SBS I was entranced in a lovely Icelandic-black-witty-comedy named 'Mávahlátur' (The Seagull's Laughter). In 3/4's of the film I just sat there closing my eyes and listening to the delicate clicks and rings in the character's accents. It was ever-so gorgeous. Now I would be considered to be a very bias person when it comes to my opinion on the Icelandic Language, seeing as though my favourite musician is the qwerkily-wonderful Björk, but I swear, Björk only started me off on my love boat in Icelandic Language Land. Now please listen to a bit of the audiofile linked to the words 'Icelandic Language' because it took me an hour to find anything remotely like it. I also find it disturbing that every Icelandic page has something of Björk in it. After spending some time getting aquanted, talking about flavoured pop-corn, we descided that we were now 'new friends'. Upon this revelation, we decided that he should stay the night, but where, 'I don't have a bed for cartoony-men" I said. Luckly enough with Mum's input (she had been drawn into the situation for initial permision for a 'new friend' to stay over) we decided it would be best if he stayed in my blog.
Yes, this is a 'new friend' of mine, who does not have a name, but he does whatever I say.
